Eucalypt - Premium pottery tool bag with multiple pockets (18 external + 9 internal) and wide central space for Tool Rack and art supplies. Green canvas bag designed in Byron Bay for potters, painters, illustrators, crochet artists, photographers, printmakers and makers who value nature-inspired design and organisation.
ABOUT THE EUCALYPT ARTIST BAG
The Eucalypt is a spacious canvas tool bag with plenty of pockets, designed for artists and makers who need serious organisation. This multi-pocket artist bag features an innovative dual-pocket system with 18 external pockets and 9 internal compartments, creating 27 pockets total for complete tool organisation.
Designed in Byron Bay and inspired by Australia's iconic eucalyptus forests, this green canvas bag brings natural beauty to your creative workspace. Whether you're a potter transporting tools to classes, a painter organising brushes for plein air work, or a crochet artist managing multiple projects, Eucalypt keeps everything in its place.
Born from my experience as a ceramic artist moving between studios, this bag solves the real problems creative people face: finding tools quickly, protecting delicate equipment, and carrying everything without chaos.
UNIQUE DUAL-POCKET ORGANISATION SYSTEM
Eucalypt features an organisation system not found in other pottery bags or artist bags on the market. The combination of external pockets and internal compartments gives you flexible storage options that adapt to your working style.
18 External Pockets:
Perfect for tools you grab constantly during work. These smaller pockets keep frequently-used items within easy reach. Ideal for ribbon tools, trimming tools, brushes, sponges, pencils, small sculpting tools, and other items you need quick access to throughout your creative session.
9 Internal Compartments (Our Unique Feature):
This is what makes The Artist Bag different from competing pottery tool bags. The internal compartments are taller pockets that are open at the bottom, not sewn closed. This unique design means:
• Tools stand upright vertically, visible from above
• You can see all your tools at a glance when you look down into the bag
• Perfect for taller pottery tools like ribs, larger brushes, rolling pins
• Holds containers like cups or jars filled with brushes or pencils (lift the whole cup out, ready to use)
• Accommodates small boxes like letter stamps for clay work
• Keeps longer tools organised without them tangling or falling over
• NOT for small loose items (they would fall through to the bottom)
The internal compartments create a "standing storage" system where tools remain upright and organised. Many potters tell us this is their favourite feature because they can instantly see which tool they need without digging through a pile. It's like having a desktop organiser built into a portable bag.
This internal compartment system is unique to The Artist Bag. We haven't seen this feature in other pottery bags, including Soolla or similar brands. It's one of the main reasons artists choose our bag over competitors.
SPACIOUS CENTRAL SPACE
The wide central compartment accommodates:
• Our custom pottery Tool Rack (sold separately)
• iPad or tablet up to 11 inches
• Laptop up to 13 inches
• A4 sketchbooks and large notebooks
• Multiple water bottles
• Larger pottery tools like wooden bats and big ribs
• Rolled canvases or papers
• Several projects' supplies at once
• Small wedging boards
• Clay (wrapped, for transport to classes)
The open-top design means you see everything immediately. No digging, no searching, just grab what you need.
PREMIUM CANVAS CONSTRUCTION
Crafted from durable, pre-washed canvas (85% cotton, 15% polyester), Eucalypt balances strength with softness. The canvas material handles heavy pottery tools, wet clay residue, paint, and daily studio use. Reinforced seams and strong stitching ensure the bag lasts for years even when fully loaded.
The pre-washed canvas means minimal shrinkage and a soft, natural feel from day one. The green eucalyptus colour won't show dirt as easily as lighter colours, making it practical for messy studio work.
No zipper, this bag stays open and ready. See all your supplies at a glance.

VERSATILE ARTIST BAG FOR PAINTING & DRAWING
While designed for pottery, Eucalypt works brilliantly as a painting supply bag and artist tool bag.
For Painters:
This multi-pocket bag organises painting supplies beautifully. External pockets hold smaller brushes sorted by size. Internal compartments hold taller brushes standing upright, palette knives standing vertically, or jars of medium-sized brushes ready to grab.
• Acrylic, oil, and watercolour brushes organised by type
• Palette knives standing in internal compartments
• Paint tubes in external pockets
• Sketch pads and canvas boards in central space
• Palette and painting mediums
• Rags and paper towels
• Water containers (sealed)
Plein air painters love this bag because the internal compartments hold brush containers upright during transport, and the open top means quick access when capturing changing light.
For Illustrators and Sketchers:
Perfect artist supply bag for urban sketchers and illustrators who work on location.
• Pencils, charcoals, and drawing tools organised by type
• Pens and technical drawing pens sorted in external pockets
• Markers and felt-tips standing upright in internal compartments

The many pockets mean different media stay separated. Charcoals don't mix with pens, wet media stays away from paper.
EXCELLENT BAG FOR FIBER ARTS
Eucalypt makes an outstanding crochet bag, knitting bag, and general fiber arts organiser.
For Crochet and Knitting:
The internal compartments are perfect for yarn balls standing upright. See all your colour choices at a glance. External pockets organise hooks and needles by size.

• Knitting needles (straight or circular) in internal compartments
• Yarn balls standing upright, visible from above
• Scissors, stitch markers, tape measure in small pockets

Many knitters say this is the best knitting project bag they've found because they can see all their yarn colours without unpacking, and hooks/needles have dedicated spots so they never get lost.

DESIGNED IN BYRON BAY WITH INTENTION
The Artist Bag emerged from two years of design work, testing different pocket configurations and sizes. As a working ceramicist in Northern Rivers, I needed a bag that could handle real studio life: transporting tools between my home studio and community studios, teaching pottery classes with all my demonstration tools, and attending workshops without forgetting essential equipment.
The internal compartments were the breakthrough design feature. Traditional tool bags only had external pockets, meaning tools piled into the central space where they tangled, fell over, and became hard to find. By adding tall internal compartments that hold tools vertically, everything became visible and accessible. It's like having a standing organiser built into a portable bag.
The name "Eucalypt" honours Australia's native eucalyptus forests. These trees are resilient, beautiful, and quintessentially Australian. The green colour reflects the calming, grounding energy of being surrounded by nature. For creative people, this connection to the natural world supports mindful, present work.
WHY CHOOSE EUCALYPT OVER OTHER POTTERY BAGS
Compared to other pottery tool bags (like Soolla and similar brands), Eucalypt offers unique advantages:
Internal Compartments:
This is our signature feature. Other bags only have external pockets. Our internal compartments let you organise tools vertically, see everything from above, and keep taller items upright. This feature alone makes The Artist Bag worth choosing.
Larger Capacity:
Eucalypt is slightly larger than competing pottery bags, with a wider base and more interior volume. This means you can carry more supplies or larger items comfortably.
Better Organisation Options:
With 27 pockets (18 external, 9 internal), you have more organisational flexibility than bags with fewer pockets. Sort by tool type, by project, by frequency of use, or by size.
Open-Top Design:
No zipper means instant access. For potters with clay-covered hands or parents with crying babies, this instant access is invaluable. See everything at once, grab what you need, keep working in flow.
Quality Construction:
Reinforced seams, durable canvas, strong handles. This bag is built to last for years of daily studio use, not to be replaced in six months.
Australian Design:
Supporting a working artist and small business in Byron Bay. Every bag purchased supports the Australian creative community.
CARE FOR YOUR CANVAS BAG
Eucalypt is designed for real creative life, which means it will get dirty. The canvas material handles this beautifully:
• Spot clean with damp cloth for clay dust, paint marks, or light stains
• Hand wash in cold water with mild soap for deeper cleaning
• Machine wash on delicate cycle if needed (rarely necessary)
• Hang to dry in shade (never use dryer)
• Do not bleach or tumble dry
• Canvas softens and develops character with use
The green eucalyptus colour hides dirt better than lighter colours, making this a practical choice for messy pottery or painting work.
