We create practical bags and accessories designed for artists and makers. Our main products are The Artist Bag, a multi pocket canvas bag for creative tools, and The Tool Rack, a wooden rack designed to keep studio tools organised.

The Artist Bag is made for ceramic artists, painters, sculptors, printmakers, illustrators, graphic designers, photographers, jewellery makers, textile artists, crocheters, knitters, florists, mixed media artists, calligraphers, makeup artists, hairdressers, massage therapists, writers, art students and design students.

It also works for daily life, for the beach, school, workshops, creative days in nature, travel sessions or as a practical baby carry bag.

Its generous pockets and open central compartment make it ideal for studio work, classes, markets, outdoor drawing or painting, TAFE days, and any situation where you need all your tools in one place. It keeps everything tidy, easy to reach and ready to go.

Yes, our bags are made from high quality pre washed canvas, so colours will not fade with proper care. You can wash your bag by hand with mild soap or in the washing machine using a short gentle cycle. Avoid bleach and tumble drying. Hang to dry in the shade.

To keep your bag in great condition, wash it gently when needed, either by hand or in the washing machine on a soft cycle. Always avoid bleach and harsh chemicals. Let it air dry in a shaded area and avoid direct sunlight. With simple care, your bag will stay strong and beautiful for years.

We design with durability and long term use in mind. Our bags are made with strong canvas, reinforced seams and timeless colours to reduce replacement cycles. All products are designed in Australia and produced in small batches.

Artists love our bags because they are designed to truly support the way creative people work.

Compared to many tool bags on the market, the Artist Bag offers a larger size and more generous storage, with 18 external pockets and 9 internal pockets that help keep tools organised in small, easy-to-access sections. Everything stays visible from above, so tools are quick to find and easy to put back in place.

The interior pockets make a big difference for organisation, allowing artists to separate tools by type and keep their workflow efficient, whether in the studio, at class or at markets.

The bag is made from high-quality, double-layer washed canvas, giving it strength, durability and a soft feel. The washed finish helps the colour age beautifully over time, while reinforced construction ensures it can handle daily use and heavy tools.

Designed by The Artist Nest, the bag and the tool rack are created to work together seamlessly, offering a practical and considered system for artists who need their tools close and organised.

Beyond functionality, the Artist Bag is designed to look beautiful and stylish. It’s not a bulky or unattractive work bag, but something you can comfortably carry every day and feel good wearing.

Each piece is packed with care and personally checked before leaving our studio in Byron Bay.

Because everything is made in small batches and carefully inspected, we don’t accept returns or exchanges for change of mind.

If your item arrives with a fault or damage, please email us within 7 days of delivery at theartistnest.brand@gmail.com with your order number and a clear photo of the issue.

If something has slipped through our hands, we’ll make it right, either with a replacement or a refund.
Return shipping costs are covered only for faulty or incorrect items.

All products are designed in Australia by Mon Manabu, a ceramic artist based in the Northern Rivers. The idea was born while studying ceramics, Mon needed a practical, stylish, and well-organised tool bag for her clay tools. When she couldn’t find what she needed, she decided to create it herself.
